Biography of The Heptones
Bigger in the mid 60s than The Wailers, the Heptones were led by Studio One bassist and singer Leroy Sibbles, one of Jamaica's most compelling vocalists. The belting Sibbles lead, with the harmonies of Earl Morgan and Barry Llewellyn, made The Heptones a model for trios through the late 70s, when Sibbles left. Now fronted by Naggo Morris, the Heptones 80s material never recaptured the majesty of the earlier era. Sibbles continues as a highly popular international touring artist. ~ Roger Steffens
