Biography of Pat Benatar
Originally trained as an opera singer, Pat Benatar decided to apply her considerable lung power to rock. Beginning with her first recording in 1979, Benatar adopted the persona of a tough, no-nonsense woman, which helped make her one of the most popular female performers of the '80s. Her biggest hit singles and albums included: "Hit Me with Your Best Shot" (#9, 1980), Crimes of Passion (#2, 1981), Precious Time (#l, 1981), Get Nervous (#4, 1983), "Love Is a Battlefield" (#5, 1983), "We Belong" (#5, 1985), and "Invincible" (#10, 1985). Some of the material was written by Benatar and/or her guitarist husband Neil Geraldo. ~ Kenneth M. Cassidy
