Biography of Kris Kross

Rap successes come in the strangest packages. Kris Kross are two 13-year-olds from Atlanta who, with the help of 19-year-old producer Jermaine Dupri, released a gimmick-laden but fairly charming debut which promptly outsold nearly all of its competition in the summer of 1992. Whether they can turn their success story into a career remains to be seen. While it wasn't a disaster, their 1993 follow-up Da Bomb, didn't match the levels of their debut, mainly because it didn't have a single as strong as "Jump" or "Warm It Up." ~ John Floyd
