Biography of Alien Crime Syndicate

Space-pop outfit Alien Crime Syndicate was formed in San Francisco in 1997 by singer/guitarist Joe Reineke, onetime frontman of the Meices. Also featuring guitarist Jason Krevey, bassist Jeff Rouse and drummer Nabil Ayers, the group relocated to Los Angeles in the spring of 1998; upon signing to Revolution Records, Alien Crime Syndicate entered the studio with famed producer Gil Norton, completing an LP which remains unreleased in the wake of the label's dissolution. The band then relocated again, this time to Seattle, where the Collective Fruit label issued a self-titled EP in 1999; the full-length Dust to Dirt followed in early 2000. ~ Jason Ankeny
